EXISTING CONDITIONS: The local streets in the project area include newer paved, oiled and older paved streets. Some of the oi(ed streets have sections of concrete curb. The oiled street surfaces are in fair to poor condition. The oiled streets have NSP wood pole lighting. PROPOSEDIMPROVEMENTS Improve the following oiled and oider paved local residential streets by the construction of concrete curb and gutter, new bituminous surfaced roadway, concrete driveway aprons and boufevard sodding a�d a iantern style street lighting system. ALTERNATES: To do nothing would be inconsistent with the City's commitment to improve existing oiled and older paved residential streets. POSITIVE BENEFITS: General improvemAnt of the pubiic right-of-way will enhance and add quality to the neighborhood. Sireet oiling would be eliminated. EXISTING CONDITIONS: The local streets in the project area include newer paved, oiled and older paved streets. Some of the oi(ed streets have sections of concrete curb. The oiled street surfaces are in fair to poor condition. The oiled streets have NSP wood pole lighting. PROPOSEDIMPROVEMENTS Improve the following oiled and oider paved local residential streets by the construction of concrete curb and gutter, new bituminous surfaced roadway, concrete driveway aprons and boufevard sodding a�d a iantern style street lighting system. The standard for Victoria Street is 32' wide with side parking or 38' evide with two side parking. Pubiic Works will work with the neighborhood to determine the width for Victoria Street. ALTERNATES: To do nothing would be inconsistent with the City's commitment to improve existing oiled and older paved residential streets. POSITIVE BENEFITS: General improvemAnt of the pubiic right-of-way will enhance and add quality to the neighborhood. Sireet oiling would be eliminated. Lantern style lighting will enhance neighborhood safety and esthetics. c��- in �� ADVERSE EFFECTS: Normaf problems associated with construction such as noise, dust and general disruption will be present. EFFECTS ON TREES: The alignment of the curbs will be selected to minimize the loss of trees. New trees wiil be planted as part of the boulevard restoration TIME SCHEDULE: The project will begin in the spring of 1999 and wil{ be completed by late falf of 1999. There will be restrictions on the amount of time work is done on individual segments of streets.
