in effect at the time of installation.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on Wednesday, 2nd
day of December. 1998, at 5:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of

PROJECT:
Construction of concrete curb and gutter, a new bituminous surfaced roadway,
concrete driveway aprons, boulevard sodding, tree planting, water and sewer service
connections and reconnections, sanitary sewer repairs and construct a lantern style
lighting system in the area called Grotto / Hoyt RSVP (Area 55).
EXISTING CONDITIONS:
The 4oca! streets in the project area inc(ude, oiled and older paved streets. Some of
the oiled streets have sections of concrete curb. The oiled street surfaces are in fair
to poor condition. The oiled streets have N.S.P. wood pole lighting.
PROPOSED{MPROVEMENTS:
Improve the following oiled and older paved local residentiai streets by the construction
of concrete curb and gutter, new bituminous surfaced roadway, concrete driveway
aprons and boulevard sodding and a lantern style street lighting system.

AVON STREET - Nebraska Avenue to California Avenue (30'-32')
CALIFORNIA AVENUE - Victoria Street to Grotto Street (30'-32')

neighborhood. Street oiling would be eliminated. Lantern style lighting wili enhance
neighborhood safety and esthetics.
ADVERSE EFFECTS:
Normal problems associated with construction such as noise, dust and generai
disruption will be present.

The alignment of the curbs will be selected to minimize the loss of trees. New trees
will be planted as part of the boulevard restoration
TIME SCHEDULE:

segments of streets.

ASSESSMENT RATE FOR STREET PAVING AND LIGHTING:
