Seventh to the south, and Railroad right-of-way to the west. EXISTING CONDITIONS: The oiled streets, some of which have intermittent sections of curb, or no curb, are in generally poor condition. The majority of the street lighting in the project area is NSP wood pole lighting. The following are oiled streets with intermittent sections of concrete curb: RIVOLI - Minnehaha to approximately 700' south CLARK - Minnehaha to approximately 280' north BRADLEY - Minnehaha to Bush REANEY - Edgerton to approximately 25�' east of Payne FRED - Desoto to Bedford HOPKINS - Payne to approximately 150' east PETIT - Desoto to Payne DESOTO - Hopkins to Kenny KENNY - Desoto to Srunson BRUNSON - Kenny to Woodward WOODWARD - Brunson to approximately 18�' east of Payne PROPOSED IMPROVEMEN7S: New bituminous roadways with concrete curb and gutter are being proposed. Ail driveways will be reconstructed with concrete, and new concrete outwafks wilf be constsucted for each home. Boulevards will be regraded and sodded. A{antern sty4e lighting system will be constructed to rep(ace the wood po(e lighting. The bent straw style lighting in this area will remain unchanged. ALTERNATES: To do noth+ng would be inconsistent with the city's commitment to improve existing oiled streets. POSITIVE BENEFITS: General improvement of the public right-of-way will enhance and add quality to the neighborhood . Sireet oiling will be eliminated. Lantern style lighting will enhance neighborhood safety and esthetics. ADVERSE EFFECTS: Normal probiems associated with construction such as noise, dust, reduced access to property and general disruption will be present. EFFECT ON TREES: Street widths wili be sefected to minimize the loss of trees. Seventh to the south, and Railroad right-of-way to the west. EXISTING CONDITIONS: The oiled streets, some of which have intermittent sections of curb, or no curb, are in generally poor condition. The majority of the street lighting in the project area is NSP wood pole lighting. The following are oiled streets with intermittent sections of concrete curb: RIVOLI - Minnehaha to approximately 700' south CLARK - Minnehaha to approximately 280' north BRADLEY - Minnehaha to Bush REANEY - Edgerton to approximately 25�' east of Payne FRED - Desoto to Bedford HOPKINS - Payne to approximately 150' east PETIT - Desoto to Payne DESOTO - Hopkins to Kenny KENNY - Desoto to Srunson BRUNSON - Kenny to Woodward WOODWARD - Brunson to approximately 18�' east of Payne PROPOSED IMPROVEMEN7S: New bituminous roadways with concrete curb and gutter are being proposed. Ail driveways will be reconstructed with concrete, and new concrete outwafks wilf be constsucted for each home. Boulevards will be regraded and sodded. New curb wili be hand formed, if necessary, to avoid damaging trees and/or tree roots. Tree trimming may be necessary to facilitate construction. ALTERNATES: To do noth+ng would be inconsistent with the city's commitment to improve existing oiled streets. POSITIVE BENEFITS: General improvement of the public right-of-way will enhance and add quality to the neighborhood . Sireet oiling will be eliminated. Lantern style lighting will enhance neighborhood safety and esthetics. ADVERSE EFFECTS: Normal probiems associated with construction such as noise, dust, reduced access to property and general disruption will be present. EFFECT ON TREES: Street widths wili be sefected to minimize the loss of trees. New trees wi11 be planted as part of the bou{evard restoration. > TfME SCHEDULE: ��_�yqY The project will begin in the spring of 1998 and wi�l be completed by late fall of 1998. There will be fiurther resirictions on the amount of time aflowed to work on individual segments of streets.
