District 10 was successful in acquiring a grant from the STAR program for this work. Existing Conditions At present the area is served by individual overhead lighting standards placed over the years in response to needs, but in no systematic fashion. Underground conduit was placed recently when the opportunity presented itself during paving in the area two years ago. Proposed {mprovements 1t is proposed to light this commercial area with approximatefy 15 twin lantern fixtures. Positive Benefits These improvements will heip provide a more pedestrian-firiendiy streetscape in ihis commercial node. Adverse Effects increased operating costs. District 10 was successful in acquiring a grant from the STAR program for this work. Existing Conditions At present the area is served by individual overhead lighting standards placed over the years in response to needs, but in no systematic fashion. Underground conduit was placed recently when the opportunity presented itself during paving in the area two years ago. Proposed {mprovements 1t is proposed to light this commercial area with approximatefy 15 twin lantern fixtures. Positive Benefits These improvements will heip provide a more pedestrian-firiendiy streetscape in ihis commercial node. Adverse Effects increased operating costs. Time Schedule The improvements are planned for eariy Fali, 1997.
