The Council of the City o£ 5aint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the
above improvement, due notice thereof having been given as prescribed by the City
Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations
pertaining to said proposed improvement and has fully considered the same; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the
above-described improvement be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed
and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City
officers shall calculate all e�cpenses incurred therein and shall report the same to
the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

easement in the land necessary for the slopes, cuts and fills, including right of
removal of lateral support from subject land or remainder thereof, occasioned
by excavations thereof or construction of slopes in the grading and paving of
said alley.
INII7ATING ACTION:
This improvement was initiated by a petition signed by 75% of the property
owners. The project wzil be coordinated with the Page/Cherokee RSP project.
EXISTING CONDITIONS:
The alley is platted 10 feet wide. The surface of the ailey is dirt.
PROPOSEDIMPROVEMENT:
Grade the aliey to a width of 10' and place a hot mix bituminous pavement.

Your neighbors asked the Public Works Department to develop preliminary estimates for the
paving of the Alley in Military Addition. You are invited to an informauon meeting to find
out about the plans, the fmancing and the proposed consuucrion schedule. Time and place for the
meering:

WE WILL MEET ON THE ALLEY NEAR THE MORTON AVE.
END (RAIN OR SHINE).
It is proposed to pave the alley with asphalt to a 10' width. Total cost of the project would be
approximately $1,958.00. The majority of the project cost would be paid for ihrough property
assessments. The estimated assessment is $12.55 per assessable foot. A Real Estate IIivision
representative will be at the information meeting and can tell you what the assessment for youz
property woUld be.
Conshvction could begin in the fall of 1997 or spring of 1998. It should be completed within
about thirty (30} days.
The meeung we are inviting you to is informational on1y. Any finai decisians on the proposed
project will be made at an officiai public hearing in the Ciry Hall Chambers of the City Councii.

INII7ATING ACTION:
This improvement was initiated by a petition signed by 75% of the property
owners. The project wzil be coordinated with the Page/Cherokee RSP project.
EXISTING CONDITIONS:
The alley is platted 10 feet wide. The surface of the ailey is dirt.
PROPOSEDIMPROVEMENT:
Grade the aliey to a width of 10' and place a hot mix bituminous pavement.

Your neighbors asked the Public Works Department to develop preliminary estimates for the
paving of the Alley in Military Addition. You are invited to an informauon meeting to find
out about the plans, the fmancing and the proposed consuucrion schedule. Time and place for the
meering:

WE WILL MEET ON THE ALLEY NEAR THE MORTON AVE.
END (RAIN OR SHINE).
It is proposed to pave the alley with asphalt to a 10' width. Total cost of the project would be
approximately $1,958.00. The majority of the project cost would be paid for ihrough property
assessments. The estimated assessment is $12.55 per assessable foot. A Real Estate IIivision
representative will be at the information meeting and can tell you what the assessment for youz
property woUld be.
Conshvction could begin in the fall of 1997 or spring of 1998. It should be completed within
about thirty (30} days.
The meeung we are inviting you to is informational on1y. Any finai decisians on the proposed
project will be made at an officiai public hearing in the Ciry Hall Chambers of the City Councii.
Notice of that meeting is included in this mailing.

That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 27th day of August,

House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
