Left uncorrected, the sidewalk condition would worsen to a state where it would be rendered unusable and subject to increased pedestrian injuries from talls and possible litigations. ADVANTAGESIFAPPROVED: The community will benefit from this project because 8 will provide safe detect free sidewaiks tor its many citizens. The sidewalk contracts are executad by privata contractors, so 8 tollows that private sector jo6s are created as a resuft ot this activity. DISPDVANTAGES IF APPPOYED: Historically, the sidewalk reconstruciions have created negative feedback in the area of construction procedure and assessment. Simpfy slated, property owners detest assessments, and despite the fact up to one-half the assessment is City subsidized, it still amain, coitrover,,lal. Left uncorrected, the sidewalk condition would worsen to a state where it would be rendered unusable and subjed to increased pedestrian injuries from falis and possible litigations. The communfty wiil benefil from lhis projecl because it wifl provide safe detect free sidewaVks fnr its many citizens. The sidewalk contracts are executed by private contractors, so it follows that private sector jobs are created as a result of this activity. iADVANTAGESIF APPflOVEO: Historically, the sidewalk reconstructions have created negative feedback in the area of construction procedure and assessment. Simply stated, property owners detest assessments, and despite the fact up to one-half the assessment is City subsidized, it still remains controversial. This option would allow the infrastructure of sidewalk stock to deteriorate, which in turn, will generate more personal injury suits, uRimately resulting in the expenditure of larger dollar amounts in eventual repairs,and/or replacement, as well as claim payouts. '';^ ,:m?,+'; e '-ec,er,e• .t,a€.9s ^..e..:. a. .o':Aaek,P fd:z :' dJ iOTALAMOUMOFTRANSACTION$ 61.067.00 COST/REVENUEBUDGETED(CIRCLE FUNINGSOUpCE 95 A, PPA 9S = 5 AC(TVITYNUMBEp C95^2Ti FINANCIAL INFORMATION: (EXPLAIN) B AST Y V a OOO c, cre 95 = 50,000 NO 0 ° SUMMARY OF EI'GII'EERING RECOMMENDATTONS ' 8'" Wazd 7 J CcspPRO TECT• RECOlSTRUCT SIDE'VALK S.S.
