VWTIA7ING PROBLEM, iSSUE, OPPOANhIN WrtO. WriAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY):
The probiem "defective sidewalk" was created because of tree roots, delaterious subgrade matarial, akernating free/thaw cycles,
service I'rfe limits, chemical add8ives, extreme temperature variations, etc. These problems occur on a citywide level and must be
addressed and corrected on an annua( basis. Left uncorrected, the sidewalk condition wouid worsen to a state where it would be
rendered unusable and subject to increased pedestrian injuries from falls and possible litigffiions.
ADVANTAGESIFAPPFOVED:
The communiry will benefit from this project because B will provide sate detect free sidewalks fior its marry citizens. sidewatk
contrads are executed by private contractors, so it follows that private sector jobs ar ;asa.rsEHeb titisaacvity.

DISADVANTAGES IF APPROVED: -
Historically, the sidewalk reconstructions have created negative feedback in the area of construction procedure and assessment.
Simpiy stated, psoperty owners detet assassments, aad despite the fad up to one-half the assessment is City sbsidized, if still
remains coniroversial.
D.SADVANTAGES 4F NOT APPROVED:
This option would ailow the infrastructure of sidewaik stodc to deteriorate, which in turn, wiil generate more personal injury suits,
uftimately resulting in the expenditura of larger doilar amounts in eventual repairs and/or repiacement, as well as claim payouts.
