Left uncorrected, the sidewalk cond'Rion would worsen to a state where it would be rendered unusable and subject to increased pedestrian injuries from falls and possible litigations. ADVAN7AGES IF APPROVED: The community will benefit from this project because it will provide safe detect free sidewalks for its many citizens. The sidewalk contracts are executed by private contractors, so it follows that private sector jobs are created as a resuft of this activ'Ry. DISADVANTAGES IF APPROVEO: Historically, the sidewalk reconstructions have created negative feedback in the area of construction procedure and assessment. Simply stated, property owners detest assessments, and despite the fact up to one-half the assessment is City subsidized, it sYi11 remains controversial. OfSADVANTAGES IF NT PPPRVED: This option would allow the infrastructure of sidewalk stock to deteriorate, which in turn, will generate more personal injury suits, ultimately resuking in the expenditure of larger dollar amounts in eventual repairs andfor replacement, as well as claim payouts. g s .e¢ g'a,4::s.; a 4F'EP"$LU4 i"w.vCSL,.n ..,e._o,_ .i':.' ti +J TOTALAMOUNTOFTRANSACiION$ o,2SO,OO COS7lREVENUEBUDGETED(CIRCLEONE) YES,, No FUNDINGSOURCE 5^M fl PPA 95 = 515 d ACINITYNUMBER 95-Z'727-0784 Oto FINANCIALINFOpMAT10N:(IXPLAIN) B AST = t a OO C.
