WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library will hold a staff recognition and in-house training session, to be held at the
Amherst H. Wilder facility on October 12, 2009 at a cost not to exceed $5500, and,
WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library has received donated monies from the Friends of the Library, Perrie
Jones Library Fund, which wi11 pay the entire cost for the event, and,
W HEREAS, The Saint Pauf Public Library staff require regufar and ongoing training better to meet the rapidly
changing needs of the communities they serve and this session allows all staff to be present in one place,
NOW, THEREFORE, It Is Ordered that library officials are authorized and directed to undertake the staging of the
event and remit the cost not to exceed $5500 for the program to the proper parties.

The Libxasy will have an all day training session an October 12, 2009 during which time the Library will be closed and all staff wiil
attend. The cost will not exceed $5500.
Advantages If Approved:
All staff will be together for the fraining elnninating the need for multiple sessions. Staff recognition will also be part of the day.
Disadvantages If Approved:
None.
Disadvanpges If Not Approved:
The staff would not be able to take advantage of the training sessions.
