1 WHEREAS, the training unit of the Saint Paul Police Department is conducting a three day course on
2 Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and DWI Procedures for the Saint Paul Police Recruit Academy 2005;
3 and

WHEREAS, this course is scheduled for May 8, 9, & 10, 2006 and will be conducted at the Saint Panl
Police Department, 367 Grove Street, NIN 55101; and

WHEREAS, this training is specifically designed to train new police recruits about the effects of alcoholic
beverages on people and the impairment it may cause, DWI Violations/Minnesota Statutes and
Standardized Field Sobriety testing, supervised by trained law enforcement specialist; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this training is to instruct new police recruits in DWI Violarions and
Minnesota Statutes and Standarized Field Sobriety tesring; and
15 THEREFOItE BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant to the 2006 City Budget, the proper city official(s) are hereby
16 authorized to remit a amount, not to exceed $300.00, to Big Top Wine and Spirits, 1574 University Avenue West,
17 Saint Paul, MN 55104 to cover expenses for alcoholic beverages and refreshments for civilian volunteers
18 participating in this training.
� A copy of said order is to be kept on file and on record in the Office of Financial Services.

The Saint Paul Police Department Recruit Academy will be conducting training in Standardized Field Sobriety and DUI Procedures. The
training will take place on May 8, 9& 10, 2006 and is provided by Saint Paul police officers, trained and certified by the Minnesota State
Pa4o1, designed to train new police recruits the effects and impauments alcoholic beverages may have on people. Civilian volunteers
will be participants in this trauung.
