1 WHEREAS, the St. Paul Police Department is seeking authority to pay for related expenses which
2 include: registration fees which includes copy of forensic software, travei, per diem, and lodging for
3 twa Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force participants (non-city employees) to attend
4 the Access Data Boot Camp Training, November 15-17, 2005 in St. Paul, MN: and
5
6 WHEREAS, the ICAC Task Force's mission is to form a multi-jurisdictional operafion that
7 investigates crimes involving child pornography and exploitation of children online; and
8
9 WHEREAS, this training is specifically designed to assist task force members in working these
10 investigations and the specialized nature of computer crimes makes this training a necessary
11 component of the ICAC Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this training is to train two ICAC Task Force members on current
computer forensic examinations, investigative trends, and new equipment and software which is
essential for the investigator in order to prosecute child pomography and child exploitaHon cases; and
BE IT ORDERED, that the proper city of�cials are hereby ordered to pay for the above mentioned
travel expenses related to this training for two non-city employees, and the purchase of computer
software, not to exceed $6000.00 from account 436-34056-02XX.

, The ICAC Task Force's mission is to form a multi-jurisdicGonal operation that invesugates crunes involving child pomogaphy, and
exploitation of children via the Intemet. Outside agencies participating in the task force aze not compensated for their staffs time by
the task force. The agencies that will attend all have signed a memorandum of understanding with the police department relating to the
; ICAC task force. The ICAC grant has funds set aside to cover tlus type of training.
