W HEREAS, The Central Library has been closed for renovation and most Library staff have not yet seen the changes it has
undergone, and,
WHEREAS, The Library is holding an all-staff Homecoming celebration for staff, retirees and their immediate families on
August 23" on the new patio off Kellogg Boufevard, and
WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library has received donated monies from the Friends of the Library, and the Perrie
Jones Library Fund, which will pay the entire cost for the event,
NOW, THEREFORE, It Is Ordered that library officials are authorized and directed to underlake the staging of 1he everit and
remit the cost not to exceed $3,500 for the program to the proper parties.

The renovated Central Library will open in October. Most staff inembers and retirees have not seen the renovated
' ding and feel it is one of the most important undertakiugs the Library has had. The Library has donation monies
rrom the Friends of the Library and the Perrie 7ones Library fund to pay the costs far the Homecoming.
ADVANTAGESIFAPPROVED:
Staff, retirees and family members will be ab7e to see the renewed building before 9t opens to"tha public and get
together to celebrate this important endeavor. Staff will also be able to pass on information and enthusiasm for the
reffewed Centra Library to customers.
