If the City Council approves this project, a portion of the total construction costs will be assessed against

ESTIMATED COST: $2,207,457 ESTIMATED FINANCING:
2003 Capital Imp. Bonds $1,633,778
Assessments $ 573,679
Total Financing $2,207,457
ASSESSMENT RATES:
Street Paving $28.35 per assessable foot
Street Lighting $ 5.00 per assessable foot
Bent Straw Lighting is available at $3.14 per assessable foot by petition with at least 70 percent of the
abutting property owners signing the petition.
The first 150 feet on the long side of residential corner lots will not be assessed provided that the short
side has been assessed under this paving of oiled streets program.
You may request new connections and/or the repair of sanitary sewer, storm sewer or water service
connections. If you own vacant property, we suggest that you consider requesting connections at this
time. If you have experienced a problem with your sewer line, now would be a good time to
repair/replace that service. If you have not experienced problems with your sewer service but your home
is over 50 years old,you might want to consider televising your service(sewer inspection contractors can
be found in the yellow pages). If a problem is found, it could be repaired in conjunction with the street
paving project. Generally, any sewer service or water service work done in conjunction with a street
paving project is more economical because there are no additional street removal and restoration costs.
Also, to ensure an effective sewer separation program and comply with state and federal mandates, all
rainleaders(downspouts) must be disconnected from the sanitary sewer. For more information on your
sewer service, call the Public Works Sewer Utility at (651)266-6084.
