Seeks Applicants for Cycle 6 �~
SAINT PAUL,MINNESOTA,April 20, 2000: The City of Saint Paul invites public,for-
profit, and non-profit entities in Saint Paul to apply for grants and loans over$20,001 through the
Neighborhood STAR Large Loan and Grant Program. The Neighborhood STAR Program,
funded by the half-cent sales tax revenue, provides grants and loans for capital (physical
improvement) projects to further economic, commercial, or residential development in Saint
Paul. STAR funds must be matched, $1 to $1, with private resources.
Although individual homeowner projects do not quality for STAR funding,proposals to
operate housing programs are eligible.
Applicants and any other interested parties are strongly encouraged to attend the
Neighborhood STAR application workshop on Wednesday, May 10, 2000, from 9:30 a.m. to
11:00 a.m., at the Phalen Clubhouse, 1615 Phalen Drive, Saint Paul. The Neighborhood STAR
Program applications are due by 4:00 p.m.,Thursday,July 13, 2000, and will be reviewed by
the Neighborhood STAR Board in August and September.
It is anticipated that STAR Board funding recommendations will be reviewed by Mayor
Coleman and the City Council in September/October 2000.
