ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER,
THAT the Director, Department of Finance and Management Services, be
authorized to reimburse the consultant firm of Bather, Belrose, and Boje,
Inc. , (BBB) for travel expenses for a trip that Bruce Boje of that firm
made with Donald Sobania of the Department of Public Works, Traffic
Engineering Division.
The trip was made to review inplace computerized traffic signal control
systems in the cities of Boulder, Colorado; Thorton, Colorado; Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma and in Overland Park, Kansas. The City of St. Paul is presently
designing such a system, and the consultant, (BBB) is presently under
contract with the City of St. Paul to aid in the design of the signal sys-
tem.
TOTAL COST: $498.00

RE: TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT for the consultant who is designing the computerized

ACTION REQUFS'iTD:
Approve the Administrative Order authorizing the reimbursement of the consultant,
Bather, Belrose, and Boje, Inc. for travel expenses incurred on a trip to sites
of operational computerized signal systems. Cost is $498 to be reimbursed from
1980 CIB funds.
•
PURPOSE AND RATIONALE FOR TITS ACTION:
The City is designing a computerized signal system and the evaluation of inplace
systems will aid us greatly in the preparation of the plans and specifications.
The consultant aided us in that his background knowledge caused him to ask many
pertinent questions about the systems we visited.
