WHEREAS, There was heretofore presented to the Board of Aldermen,
one of the branches of the Common Council of the City of St. Paul, the
petition of Augusta Beckman and others, a majority of the owners of
property abutting on the street hereinafter described, praying for the
vacation of Woodland street in Beaupre & Kelly' s Addition to St . Paul, and
in Doerr & Stone ' s Subdivision of Lot 6 of Hoyt ' s Outlots to St . Paul, as
shwan upon the plat annexed to said petition, wL„,�ich said petition is duly
verified as required by law and sets forth the facts and reasons for
such vacation; and
WHEREAS, Said Board deemed it expedient that the matter therein
referred to should be proceeded with, and ordered said petition and accom-
panying plat to be filed of record in /the office of the City Clerk of said
City, and ordered said Clerk to give notice by publication in the official
paper of said City in the manner and for the time required by law, that
said petition and the subject matter thereof would be heard and considered
by the Committee on Streets of said Board at its regular meeting to be held
in the Court House in said City on the 29th day of May, 1913, at four
o ' clock P. M. , which said notice was duly published and given; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee on Streets of said Board did meet at the
time and place above mentioned and appointed therefor, and said Committee
did then and thereafter adjourn the hearing on said petition until its meet-

penses of this proceeding, which is hereby fixed as the compensation for
said vacation .

of Toodland Street in Beaupre & Kelly' s Addition to St.P&:u1 and
Doerr Stone ' s Subdivision of Lot 6 of Hoyt ' s Out Lots to St.Paul
and state the follo,,ing facts and cirenmstances as groginds for their
petition for such vacation:
That on and prior to the 4th aa;; of August , 1874, B. Beaupre
and P. H. Kelly were the o 'hers of a certain tract of land comprising
a Part of the Mortht est g uarter of the ?',orthwest quarter (i17''" of 17 1)
of Section 29, Township 29, Range 22, situate in the county of
Ramsey and state of Minnesota, and now embraced within the cor-
iporate limits of the city of St.Paul, and on that day they duly
executed a plat of said land and called the same Beaupre Kelly ' s
to St .Paul and thereafter and thereby dedicated to the public use
certain streets.

That on and prior to the 11th day of April, 1886, P. R.
Doerr and L. K. Stone were the owners of a tract of land abutting the
above described property, also comprising a part of the Northwest
quarter of the 7orthwest quarter (774- of NT+) Section 29, Township
29 , Range 2 2, in the County of Ramsey and State of 77intesota and now
embraced within the corporate limits of the city of St.Palli, and on
that day duly exec'Ited a plat of said land and called the same
"D0e77r Stone ' s Subdivision of Lot 6 of Hoyt ' s Out Lo .,+ to St.Paul",

and thereafter and thereby dedicated to the public use certain streets.
That among the streets aforesaid is a short street 66 feet
in width extending from Magnolia Street northward two blocks to
Geranium Street. Said street is bordered on the west side by a
part of Lots 1 and 2, Bioci 20, Beaupre e7c Kelly' s Addition and Lots
1 and 20, Block 2, Doerr & Stone' s Subdivision. Said street is bor-
dered. on the East side bt part of Lots 3 and 4, Block 19, Beaupre
Kelly ' s Aci. ition and Lots 10 aria 11, Block 1, Doerr 1 Stone ' s Subdivlsioyl.
Plat of said Beaupre & Kelly' s Addition was recorded in the
Register of Deeds office on the 3th day of August , 1874, in Book L
of Town Plats, on page 20; and the plat of Doerr (7c Stone' s Subdivision
was recorded in Book 3 of Town Plats, on page 31, on the 4th clay of
September, 1886.
The said Augusta Beckman is the owner of the Fasterly 1/3 of
Ltt 1, Block 20, Beaupre (7, Kelly' s Addition;

The said Ludvig Kalmen is the owner of the West 1/3 of
Lot 4, Block 19, Beaupre & Kell y's Addition;
The said Hugo E. Nelson is the owner of Lot il, Block 1,
Doerr. & Stone's Subdivision, and
Angeline R. Peck of North Chatham, New York is the owner
of Lot 10, Block 1, Doerr & Stone's Subdivision; all of the said
last mentioned properties bordering the said Woodland street on the
east side . Said Angeline R.Peck is now deceased and Miss Bessie.
Peek petitions in her behalf as her duly appointed and sole executrix.
All taxes and assessments of every kind and nature have
been paid on the aforesaid property, except as to Lot 1, Block 2,
Doerr & Stone's Subdivision, as hereinafter set forty...
Attached to this petition is a surveyor's plat showing
the location of all the properties herein referred to and of the said
Woodland street and of the true lines of each and every tract of
and .erein aescribed.
The proposed dedication of said street has not been accepted
by the public authorities and said proposed street has never be'a'n
opened, graded or btrerwise used as a street. There is no public
necessity for a street at that point and the public interest does
not require that it be opened or used as such. That other blocks
of equal size and located to the south and to the north of said
Woodland street are not intersected by the said Woodland street or
any other street or avenue whatsoever. The topography of said
street is very irregular and would incur an unwarranted expense were

If said street is vacated it is t% e intention of your
petitioners to use it and keep the same as a part of their respective
residences .
Your petitioners represent that they are the owners of all
the property abutting on both sides of said Woodland street through-
out its entire length except Lot 1, Block 2 and Lot 10, Block 1,
Doerr & Stone's Subdivision.
The owners of said Lot 1, Block 2, Doerr & Stone' s
Subdivision, namely, Nattie H. Green, is a resident of Sharon,
Massachusetts,, and has not paid any taxes or. aessments on said
property for many years and the same are now delinquent. The owner
of Lot 10, Block 1, Doerr & Stone' s Subdivision, namely Angeline R.
she
Peck, is a resident of North Chatham, New York and has been advised
of this proposed vacation and has not objected thereto.
wHERE7ORE your petitioners pray that the-common Council, by
proper resolution, declare said Woodland street in said Beaupre &
Kelly' s Addition and said Doerr & Stone's Subdivision of Lot 6 Hoyt' s
Out Lots, vacated to the end that the ownership of the land embraced
within the lines of said street may be freed from any existing ease-
ment or other right therein and that the same may be used as an
enlargement of each respective owner' s properties.
