owners of the lots in said block,eet after their respective names,anci
they respectfully petition your honorable body,to have the portion of
the alley heraf e tr described vacated:
Beginning at a point on the north line of Scudder street pro-
duced ast,said north line of Scudder street being the eouth line of
Lot block 48 t Anthciny Park North and said point being twenty (eC)
feet eaot of the east corner of Lot 1, Pim Crescent, thence east along
said north line of Scudder otreet produced to the eouthwest corner of

The purpose of slain vacation is to eliminate the long alley
crossing, a; .roximately forty (40) feet, anJ improve the entrance to
said alley by confining it to a width of twenty (20) feet, Treasured
on the property line and parallel with the street gutter, confining
the entrance to said alley so that it will be at right angles to the
line of the 2tre,A gutter and to enable the petitioner owner of Lot
9, to improve the side alkfacilities in front of his lot, by extend-
ing a cement walk along the proposed vacation, and to enable him to
improve and beatify this corner by filling 1LL, and rounding off his
terrace on to the land so vacated.

WHEREAS, There was heretofore presented to the Board of Aldermen,
one of the branches of the Common Council of the City of St . Paul, the
petition of E. S. Van Koughnet and others, the owners of the property
abutting upon the portion of the alley hereinafter described, praying for
the vacation of the following described piece of land, to-wit: Beginning
at a point on the north line of Scudder street produced west, said north
line of Scudder street being the south line of Lot 9, Block 48, St. Anthony
Park North, and said point being twenty feet east of the east corner of Lot
1, Elm Crescent, thence east along said north line of Scudder street pro-
duced to the southwest corner of said Lot 9, thirteen feet more or less,
thence northwesterly along the southwesterly line of said Lot 9, twenty-
four feet, more or less, to a point opposite to the east corner of Lot 1,
Elm Crescent, and twenty feet distant therefrom, measured at right angles
to the southwesterly line of said Lot 9, thence on a curve with radius of
twenty feet, the center of said curve being the west corner of said Lot
1, Elm Crescent, to the point of beginning, as shown upon the plat annex-
ed to said petition, which said petition is duly verified as required by
law and sets forth the facts and reasons for such vacation; and
WHEREAS, Said Board deemed it expedient that the matter therein
referred to should be proceeded with, and ordered said petition and accom-
panying plat to be filed of record in the office of the City Clerk of said
City, and ordered said City Clerk to give notice by publication in the
official paper of said City in the manner and for the time required by law,
that said petition and the subject matter thereof would be heard and con-
sidered by the Committee on Streets of said Board of Aldermen at its regu-
lar meeting to be held in the Council Chamber in the Court House in said
City, on the 14th day of August, 1913, at four o' clock P . M . , which said
notice was duly published and given; and
