the petition of Rufus Jefferson,,et al for the vacation of La Salle
street between Lots 56 & 55 of Hewitt' s Outlots First Division,
fixing the compensation at $100.00 and cost of proceedings,, and referred
same to you for proper form of resolution vacating said street .

. We the undersigned property owners and business men of the
Midway district interested in the development thereof and particularly
the securing of the new depot and better shipping facilities, most
respectfully petition your honorable, body to grant the vacation of
that portion of La Salle Street asked for by Messrs.Jefferson & Hoard
which petition is now in your hands. It means much for this City and
the Midway District in particular and the depot has been long wanted
and worked 'or by us all.

RESOLVED, By the Common Council of the City of St . Paul, that
that portion of La Salle street lying between the southerly line of
Charles street and a line parallel with the southerly line of said Charles
street and 113 feet southerly therefrom, in the City of St. Paul, as
shown upon said plat , be and the sane is hereby vacated and discontinued
as a public street , subject , however, to the following conditions, that
is to say:
Such vacation is based upon the condition that said petition-
ers shall, before thi resolution takes effect , pay into the Treasury of
