Gentlemen:
Pursuant to instructions of the Committee on
Streets of the Board of Aldermen , I transmit here-
-rith a proper form of resolution vacating that por-
tion of Sha;vmut Street lying between Blocks 4 and 5
in Burlington Heights Division No . 1 , on petition
of Albert E . Greaza, et al . , the compensation being
fixes at $10 .00 in addition to the expenses of the
proceeding .

premises at the present time for such purposes and desires to fence
in and use the whole thereof including that portion of said Shaw-
mut Street that is fit for that purpose.
That a plat of said premises is hereto attached and
made a part hereof.
WHIMEVORE, your petitioner prays that the aforesaid
street , from Howard Ave. on the North to the alley south of and
adjoining lots 16 and 23 in Block 4 and Lots 19 and 27 in Block
5, be vacated and discontinued.

Gentlemen:-
I, the undersigned, Albert E. Greaza, am a resident
of said city and reside on Lot 15, Block 5 of Burlington Heights
Division No. 1, That I air: the owner of Lots 1 to 16 inclusive
and 23 to 29 Inclusive of Block 4, Lots 1 to 10 inclusive, 28 to
38 inclusive and 14 and 15 of Block 5, all in Burlington Heights,
Division No. 1.
That Shawmut Street lies between said Blocks and that
I am desirous of having said Street vacated for the following rea-
sons , to-wit : Said Street has never been graded or used as a
street and it would be impractible, if not impossible, to use said
111110ftb--- street for the purpose for which it was intended as there is a
ravine at the North end of said street some 15 or 20 feet deep,
and another ravine at the South end thereof about 50 feet deep.
That Howard Ave. , which is platted on the North side of said prem-
ises, has never been graded at this point. That said premises are
sparsely settled, there being but three houses in said Block 5,
which each front on Brookline Ave. , none in Block 4. That said
premises are upon a high plateau at Highwood and on which is only
one other house besides those mentioned for over a mile from said
premises.
That said premises are only suitable for agricultural
purposes and that your petitioner is using a portion of his

ed, praying for the vacation of that
part of Shawmut street, lying between

the owners of all the land and property abutting upon and adjoining
the street hereinafter described, praying for the vacation of that
part of Shaamut Street lying between Blocks Four and Five of Bur-
lington Heights Division Number one , in the City of St .Paul, and
more particularly described and shown upon the plat annexed to said
petition, which said petition is duly verified as required by law
and sets forth the facts and reasons for such vacation; and
WHEREAS, Said Board of Aldermen deemed it expedient that
the matter therein referred to should be proceeded with and ordered
said petition and accompanying plat to be filed of record in the of-
fice of the City Clerk of said City , and ordered said Cite Clerk to
give notice by publication in the official paper of said City in the
manner and for the time required by law that said petition and the sub-
ject matter thereof would be heard and considered by the Committee on
ift' Streets of said Board of Aldermen at its regular meeting to be held
in the Council Chamber in the Court uouse and City Hall building in
