Council of the City of Saint Paul to vacate its interest in the property described below.
1) Legal description:
Parcel 1. Those parts of Lots 6, 7 and 8, Block 3, and that part of adjoining
Eleanor Avenue, vacated, "Lexington Park Place Ramsey County, Minnesota.",
all described as beginning as a point on the West line of said Block 3, distant 25
feet North from the Southwest corner of said Block 3;thence East, parallel to the
South line of said Block 3; and its extension East, to the southeasterly line of said
Block 3; thence Southwesterly, along the Southeasterly line of said Block its
extension Southwesterly, to the South line of said plat;thence West along the
South line of said plat, to extension South of the West line of said Block 3;thence
North, along the West line of said Block 3 and its extension South, to the point
beginning.
Parcel 2. Block 3 and that part of adjoining Eleanor Avenue,vacated, lying
between the extensions across said avenue of and Southeasterly lines of said
Block 3, Woodford Park, St. Paul, Minnesota.
2) The reason for the vacation: This is an unusual triangular shaped lot. A duplex
occupies it. Off-street parking is accommodated for the upstairs unit. The
downstairs unit has limited off-street parking. Storage for lawn mowers, etc. is
provided by a storage building adjacent to the duplex. This building is a concrete
structure and is in need of removal because of tree root and hydrostatic
pressure pushing the walls down. Rebuilding has not been advised because of the
continued risk of such pressures. This will create a hardship for us. An alternate
plan for constructing a three car garage south of the duplex to accommodate
parking and storage was devised. The grade will not be altered. The building will
be set back sixteen feet from the existing curb as recommended by the City. The
garage will be set back from the existing tree line and will blend in with a
positive esthetic effect.

A. James T. Sorensen, Bradley D. Kohnert and Stephen P. Osgood do hereby petition the
Council of the City of Saint Paul to vacate its interest in the property described below.
1) Legal description:
Parcel 1. Those parts of Lots 6, 7 and 8, Block 3, and that part of adjoining
Eleanor Avenue, vacated, "Lexington Park Place Ramsey County, Minnesota.",
all described as beginning as a point on the West line of said Block 3, distant 25
feet North from the Southwest corner of said Block 3;thence East, parallel to the
South line of said Block 3; and its extension East, to the southeasterly line of said
Block 3; thence Southwesterly, along the Southeasterly line of said Block its
extension Southwesterly, to the South line of said plat;thence West along the
South line of said plat, to extension South of the West line of said Block 3;thence
North, along the West line of said Block 3 and its extension South, to the point
beginning.
Parcel 2. Block 3 and that part of adjoining Eleanor Avenue, vacated, lying
between the extensions across said avenue of and Southeasterly lines of said
Block 3, Woodford Park, St. Paul, Minnesota.
2) The reason for the vacation: This is an unusual triangular shaped lot. A duplex
occupies it. Off-street parking is accommodated for the upstairs unit. The
downstairs unit has limited off-street parking. Storage for lawn mowers, etc. is
provided by a storage building adjacent to the duplex. This building is a concrete
structure and is in need of removal because of tree root and hydrostatic
pressure pushing the walls down. Rebuilding has not been advised because of the
continued risk of such pressures. This will create a hardship for us. An alternate
plan for constructing a three car garage south of the duplex to accommodate
parking and storage was devised. The grade will not be altered. The building will
be set back sixteen feet from the existing curb as recommended by the City. The
garage will be set back from the existing tree line and will blend in with a
positive esthetic effect.
