Subject: Petition of Holm and Olson, Inc. for the vacation
of all that part of Erie Street lying North of the
North line of the alley in Block 3, Norwood Addition
extended Easterly and lying South of the Southerly
line of Interstate 35-E.
Public Hearing - September 29, 1981
The petitioner, Holm and Olson, Inc., a florist company, and the only
abutting owner to subject property, requests that this vacation be
granted to combine their property into one parcel. The land will be
used as part of their greenhouse business. The area to be vacated is
60 feet by 150 feet consisting of 9,000 square feet and is zoned RT-2.
The Department of Public Works has reviewed the proposed vacation and
reports it has no objection to it.
The Department of Planning and Economic Development has reviewed this
vacation and finds no objection to the vacation as proposed.
Northwestern Bell Telephone Company has an aerial cable and two poles
along Erie Street in the proposed vacation area. They request that
their interest be protected.
Northern States Power Company reports they have two poles and two gas
services in the proposed vacation area. They request that their
interest be protected.
There were no other objections or recommendations from any other public
or private agencies involved.
In view of the foregoing I recommend that the vacation be approved,
subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. That the description of that part of Erie Street
to be vacated read as follows:
All that part of Erie Street lying North
of the North right-of-way line of the alley
in Block 3, Norwood Addition to the City of
St. Paul extended Easterly and lying South
of South right-of-way line of Interstate 35-E.

Subject: Petition of Holm and Olson, Inc. for the vacation
of all that part of Erie Street lying North of the
North line of the alley in Block 3, Norwood Addition
extended Easterly and lying South of the Southerly
line of Interstate 35-E.
Public Hearing - September 29, 1981
The petitioner, Holm and Olson, Inc., a florist company, and the only
abutting owner to subject property, requests that this vacation be
granted to combine their property into one parcel. The land will be
used as part of their greenhouse business. The area to be vacated is
60 feet by 150 feet consisting of 9,000 square feet and is zoned RT-2.
The Department of Public Works has reviewed the proposed vacation and
reports it has no objection to it.
The Department of Planning and Economic Development has reviewed this
vacation and finds no objection to the vacation as proposed.
Northwestern Bell Telephone Company has an aerial cable and two poles
along Erie Street in the proposed vacation area. They request that
their interest be protected.
Northern States Power Company reports they have two poles and two gas
services in the proposed vacation area. They request that their
interest be protected.
There were no other objections or recommendations from any other public
or private agencies involved.
In view of the foregoing I recommend that the vacation be approved,
subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. That the description of that part of Erie Street
to be vacated read as follows:
All that part of Erie Street lying North
of the North right-of-way line of the alley
in Block 3, Norwood Addition to the City of
St. Paul extended Easterly and lying South
of South right-of-way line of Interstate 35-E.

Subject: Petition of Holm & Olson Inc. for the vacation of a portion of
Erie Street
I recommend that a public hearing be rescheduled before the City Council
on March 23, 1982, to discuss this matter. The previous public hearing
scheduled for September 29, 1981, was laid over at the request of the petitioner
so he could obtain his own real estate appraisal on that part of Erie Street
proposed for vacation.

Notice is hereby given that the petition of
Holm&Olson,Inc.for the vacation of a por-
tion of Erie Street,as more particularly shown
on the plat attached to the petition,has been
ordered filed in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of St.Paul,Minnesota,by the Coun-
cil,and said petition will be heard and con-
sidered by the Council at a meeting thereof to
be held in the Council Chamber in the City
Hall and Court House on the 23rd day of
March,1982,at ten o'clock A.M.

PURPOSE lying North of the North line of the alley in Block 3,
Northwood Addition and lying South of Interstate 35-E.
The land will be added to the adjacent greenhouse business.
This matter was originally laid over by the City Council
on September 29, 1981, at the request of the petitioner.
