This street is being vacated to allow development of the Crosby Lake Business Park by the Saint Paul Port Authority. New streets are being constructed to connect Montreal Avenue at I-35E to W. Seventh Street near Chatsworth Street. According to Rick Gierdal of the Port Authority there will be a physical barrier at the west end of Adrian Street. No connection will be constructed between the new industrial streets and the existing portion of Adrian Street. In the proposed vacated area there is an existing active public sand rock sewer that the City owns and maintains. Also, in the western portion of the proposed vacated area there is an existing active sanitary interceptor sewer that is owned and operated by the Metropolitan Council of Wastewater Service (MCWS, formerly MWCC). Please see attached sewer record sheet. The MCWS will need to review this vacation request and most likely will want an easement to protect their facility. The City sand rock sewer will need to be protected in a subterranean easement. Therefore, the Department of Public Works has no objections to the vacation subject to the following: 1. The petitioner shall dedicate the necessary rights-of-way to accommodate the new streets connecting Montreal Avenue at I-35E to W. Seventh Street near Chatsworth Street.
