WHEREAS, the Division of Parks and Recreation wants the Summit Avenue sculptures preserved, and
WHEREAS, the sculptures located in Cochran and Nathan Aale Parks have been found to be in need of
restoration work, and
WHEREAS, the restoration process is being managed and coordinated by Public Art Saint Paul at the
request of the Division of Parks and Recreation, and
WHEREAS, Public Art Saint Paul will incur certain costs and expenses to complete the sculpture
restoration and installation,
THEREFORE, it is ordered that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to pay Public
Art Saint Paul for the costs and expenses of restoration of the sculptures in an amount not to exceed $3,870.00.

To approve a one-year License Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and the Saiut Paul Port
Authority allowing the Port to use the former Whirlpool "Building 17" property (Parcel No. 207A) to
access the former Stroh Brewery property and temporarily store consixuction material. Reference: 1)

The Saint Paul Port Authority needs access to the old Stroh's Brewery property to demolish grain elevators
in preparation for redevelopment. A license agreement would grant the Port legal access to, and use of, the
"Building 17" property and protect the City's interests.
DVAN1'AGES IF APPROVED:
The Port witl be able to proceed with its redevelopment plans for the old Stroh's site. The Port will also
construct, at its expense, a 30-foot wide asphalt roadway, with fencing and gates, that eventually will serve
as a temporary route for the nearby bike path during construction of the new Phalen Boulevard.

The Port will be unabie to gain access to the brewery property to do demolition work and redevelop the
property. The City will need to construct a new re-routing of the bike path at its own expense.
