ECONONIIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
FOR THE REMEDIATION OF THE U.S. BANK OPERATIONS CENTER SITE
WHEREAS, the City Council on Apri125, 2001, by Resolutions Number O1-414 and O1-415 authorized the
Director of the Department of Plauning and Economic Development to apply to the Department of Trade and
Economic Deveiopment and the Metropolitan Council for grants to remediate the U.S. Bank Operations
Center site; and
10 WI�REAS, the Departrnent of Trade and Economic Development approved a$1,989,083 grant from its
l 1 Contamination Cleanup Grant Program, and the Metropolitan Council approved a$799,685 grant from the
12 Tax Base Revitalization account of its Livable Communities Program; and

� WFIEREAS, the U.S. Bank Operations Center project, which involves developing a new 350,000 square
15 foot office building and adjoining parking ramp on a highly contaminated site, will not go forward without
16 remediating the contamination; and

'WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Sairit Paul, does hereby
certify that $2,788,768 in funds aze auailable for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2001
budget and recommends the following changes to the 2001 budget:
