1 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Deparhnent Training Unit is conducting a three day trainiug course on
2 Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, DWI Procedures for the Police Recruit Academy 2001-3.
4 WI3EREAS, this course is scheduled for July 9, 10, & 11, 2001, and will be conducted at the Saint Paul
5 Police Department, 100 E. Bleventh Street, Saint Paul, MN 55101.
7 WHEREAS, this training is specifically designed to train new police recruits the effects of
8 alcoholic beverages on people and the impairments it may cause, DWI Violations/Minnesota Statutes and
9 Standazdized Field Sobriety testing. Civilian Volunteers will be participants in this training. The training will
10 be instructed and supervised by trained law enforcement specialists.

12 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Deparhnent will enter into an agreement with Big Top Wines &
13 Spirits, 1574 University Ave. West, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55104 to provide alcoholic beverages, ice, plastic
� 4 cups, and refreshments for this trairung on Ju1y 9, 10, & 11, 2001.

16 WHEREAS, the public purpose of this training is to instruct new police recruits in DWI Violations &
17 Minnesota Statutes and Standardized Field Sobriety testing.

19 Be it ordered that pursuant to the 2001 City Budget, the proper City Officiais are hereby authorized to
20 remit an amount not to exceed $200.00 to Big Top Wines & Spirits, 1574 University Ave. West, Saint Paul,
21 Minnesota 55104, this is to cover expenses for alcoholic beverages and refreshments for civilian volunteers
22 participating in this training.
