ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, Gerald Scherkenbach, an employee of the
Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Police, was injured in
a third party accident on November 10, 1972, while engaged in
the performance of his duties; and
WHEREAS, the City has incurred medical expense in the amount of
$79.60 therefore, and said employee was disabled from work for
a period of time being paid salary in the amount of $551. 85
for which the City may claim credit at the rate of $80.00 per
week; and
WHEREAS, a compromise settlement has been negotiated between
said employee and the other party involved in said accident, and
further, a compromise settlement has been negotiated between
said employee and the City; and
WHEREAS, the amount due and owing said employee and the City
is all included in two drafts totalling $1,701. 43, receipt of
which is hereby acknowledged; and
WHEREAS, separate drafts for all the parties concerned are not
• easily obtainable and because of this, the City has agreed to
the disbursing of the funds; now, therefore, be it
ORDERED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized
to endorse the aforementioned drafts totalling $1 ,701 . 43, and
that $1 ,000.03 of this amount is to be accepted in full , final
and complete settlement of the City' s claim herein; that of
said sum #79.60 is to be credited to the Workmen' s Compensation
Fund; $20 .00 to the Police Salary fund; and $712. 43 in payment
of Registered Bill No. 3-6990, and the necessary releases executed
therefor; and be it
FURTHER ORDERED, that the proper City officials are hereby
authorized to remit to Gerald Scherkenbach and Kathleen Scherkenbach,
individually and ashusband and wife, the remaining balance of said
drafts totalling $1 ,701. 43; that being the sum of $701. 40.
