WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fixe Department wlll be receiving $55,155.00 m donations from vanous agencies m support of the
EMS Academy, and
WHEREAS, these the donarions will be used to pay for all cosu associated with the EMS Summer Academy Job Corp program
that the City of Saint Paul is providing along with Inver Hills Community College and Ramsey Counry Workforce Solutlons,
and
WHEREAS, the public puTpose of the EMS Snmrner Academy is to give 35 participants that live in Ramsey County the
opportwnty to prepare for careers in fue andlor EMS service,
WHEREAS, the £nancing and spending plans have not been established foz the donarions received, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, puxsuant to Section 10.071 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there aze available
for appropriations funds of $55,155.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2010 budget and recoznmends the following adduion
be made to the 2010 budget:

Subject: EMS Academy budget amendent
Date: July 7, 2010
This resolution establishes a financing and spending plan for the Fire Department's EMS Academy.
Donations from various agencies and individuals have been received to pay for this expense. This
resolution would allow the department to spend up to $55,155 on this event.
This program is held in conjunction with Inver Hills Community College and the Ramsey County
Workforce Solutions. The public purpose of this event is to provide Ramsey County residents the
opportunity to prepare for cazeers in fire and/or EMS service.
This will require a public hearing and will be on the Council's agenda on July 21
This proposal seems reasonable, I recommend signing.
