based on the request of the Director of the Department of Police _
to amend the 19 90 budget of the Police Impound Lot fund.the Director of the Department
of Finance and Management Services is authorized to amend said budget in the following manner:

INITIATING PROBLEM,ISSUE,OPPORTUNITY(Who,What,When,Where,Why):
An unusual number of vehicles that have been abandoned or for other reasons have been towed
to the Impound lot have then been claimed by the owners. After the vehicles were sold at
public auction. These owners had been notified that the vehicle had been impounded as
required by law but refused to pick them up until they were sold. The owners claims are
paid through the City Attorney's Office. They receive the difference between the Impound
Lot fees and the sale prices.
