INITIATING PROBLEM,ISSUE,OPPORTUNITY(Who,Whet,When,Where,Why): A summer internship program has been established for a St. Cloud State University student in the Division of Parks and Recreation. The university was awarded a grant to fund student internships when the employing agency does not have the funds to pay the student. $1,500 will be transferred from these monies to the Division of Parks and Recreation to pay for a summer intern. Spending authority needs to be established to pay this intern. ADVANTAGES IF APPROVED: The Division will benefit from the additional work being completed by the intern and rom any special knowledge or ideas the intern may have. The Division will also be providing an excellent opportunity for a student to gain practical work experience before graduating from college.
