CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA �

WHEREAS, The American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYFL) has selected Councilmember
Melvin Carter along with 6 other young political and policy leaders from across the country to participate
in the Interriational Exchange to Algeria Political Study Program to Focus on Citizen Diplomacy, held July
9-18, 201 Q, for the purpose of studying Algeria's political system, engaging in d'aalogue on international
issues,and forging professionalrelationships;and
7 WHEREAS, The American Council of Young Political Leaders has offered to provide international airfare,
8 lodging, meals, transportation and miscellaneous expenses totaling approximately $3,8�0, for
9 Councilmember Carter to attend said event; now

ll THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council on behalf of the citizans of Saint Paul,
12 accepts the gift of travel, lodging and other related expenses from The American Council of Young
13 Political Leaders and appropriates it to the public purpose of Councilmember Carter's attendance at the
14 International Exchange to Algeria Political Study Program ; and be it
15
16 FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council determines this to have public purpose and the Council
17 extends its thanks and appreciation to The American Council of Young Political Leaders for its generosity
18 and public service in this matter.
