WHEREAS, Raymond W. Beck, a police officer of the
City of Saint Paul, was injured in a third party accident
while in the course of his employment on the 23rd day of
April, 1955, and as a result the City has expended the sum
of $725. 11 to compensate said Raymond W. Beck for loss of
time, and in addition has expended the sum of $48.00 for
medical expense, and
WHEREAS, said employe has made a settlement with
Brian Taylor, the party responsible for his injury on
duty, in amount of $2,000.00, being represented in the
negotiations by his attorney, Richard N. Newcome, ' therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officers are hereby
authorized to accept in settlementof the Cityts claim
for reimbursement of said expenditures on behalf of said
employe, the sum of $500.00, and to execute a release,
together with said Raymond W. Beck, in the amount of_ $2000.00,
and to accept on behalf of said employe and his attorney,
a certified check or cashier.rs check in the amount of $500.00,
to be credited in proper proportion to the Police Salary
Fund and the Workmen*s Compensation Account.
