of the City of Saint Paul
Gentlemen:
I have examined the abstract of title, last continued by
the Abstract Clerk of Ramsey County on February 17, 1955, and
consisting of fifty-fiveentries, which covers the property
described as follows:
Lots Five (5) and Six (6) , Block Two (2) , Chas.
A.B. Weide 's Subdivision No. 1, Addition to St.
Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, according to
the plat thereof on file and of record in the
office of the Register of Deeds in and for said
County.
From such examination, I find that Clarence F. Swenson and
Elsie E. Swenson have color of title to this property by virtue
of a State Tax Title Deed, dated December 30, 1942. However,
since there is considerable doubt as to the validity of said
deed, we are unable to definitely ascertain who the owners of
this property are, and therefd>re recommend that the Council
pass the attached resolution authorizing payment of the amount
awarded to said property by Council File No. 170442, approved
October 6, 1954, into the District Court of Ramsey County,
Second Judicial District, for the party or parties who show
to the satisfaction of the Court that they are entitled to
said award.
