WIIREAS, The Commissio`�er of Public Works has reported in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from January 19 to 25, 1956, which rendered
necessary the employement of certain employees of the Department
of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
Snow removal and sanding icy streets
And WHMAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances:
Necessity of keeping streets free from snow
and ice
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance,
ordinance No. 6446.
