W1ERE4S, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from December 16, 1955 to January 15, 1956, which rendered nec-
essary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public
Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week, in
doing the following work:
General clerical and stenographic work in the Bureau of
Police Records Division, and maintenance work in the
Bureau of Building maintenance
and WBEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Using present trained personnel to compensate for recent
reduction in clerical force:
TEUMPORE, 32 IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pair the employees who performed such work in. ,accordance
with the provision of the Councills Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
