A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is repave Fifth Street from Jackson Street to Breadway
by removing present sandstone wearing course and concrete base; by removing track pavement
including rails and ties; by constructing new concrete base and asphaltic concrete surfacing;
by paving alley and driveway returns; by constructing new curbing and sidewalks where neces-
sary; by constructing sewer, water and gas service connections from the street mains to the
property lines where necessary; reconstructing the paving, curbing and sidewalks on the
intersecting streets where not in conformity with said improvement; by constructing conduits
and appurtenances for future lighting and traffic control systems where necessary; and by
doing all other work which is necessary and incidental to said improvement,
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement i�Accordance therewith.
