With Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
daring the period from March 16th to March 31st 1956 inc.,
Which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the
Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per Week in doing the following work:
1 Repairing Filtration Plant equipment.
2 Working shifts of employees on regular shifts.
3 Keeping ice away from intake at Mississippi River station.
4 Repairing and finishing installation of water stains and
servic# connections, various locations.
(5) Taking emergency cs at Storeyarde
(6) `raking country crew to and from work:
AID WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances
Necessary to make repairs during low consumptien hours. "
t- ) Regular employees off on acoount of illness.
(; ) In order to keep ice from accumulating.
( ') In order to keep continuous water service:
( .) Nights and Sundays e
(6) On account of scattered work locations.
TRRWOREp BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed, such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No, 6446,
