Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of John M. Adams to install -
and operate a used-car lot at 690 E. Seventh Street. This is located
adjacent to the south side of east Seventh street approximately 55'
east of Maria and is described as: except the NE'ly 30' and except
the Wily 141 for Seventh street and except the NE'ly loot and except
the SW'ly 50' - Lot 1, block 2 •• Auditor's subdivision No. 19. The
zoning is "commercial."
The property under consideration has a frontage of approximately 82t
on east Seventh and extends southeasterly a distance of 86'. The
land is presently vacant. There is a single-family dwelling occupied
by applicant to the east: a parking area and tavern to the west: vacant
lot and single-family home to the south which front along Maria and the
East Side Motor 0Dmpany new-car sales and used-car lot across east
Seventh street to the north.
Applicant's plans call for appropriate fencing and surfacing. Access
is to be from an existing driveway on east Seventh street. For the
protection of the vacant lot to the south which is zoned "commercial"'
and "residential" applicant has provided a 5' buffer strip that will
be landscaped and sodded.
The Ebard of Zoning finds no objection tothis proposal from the stand-
point of land use and recommends that this permit be granted in
accordance with the applicant's plans received in the Planning Board
office, March 23, 1956.
