nu m, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency dur-
ing the period from March 1, 1956 to March 31, 1956, which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Pub-
lic Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following work:
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Maintenance
and, SAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances:
To replace employees on sick leave
THSREJOPS BE iT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby
authorised to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provision of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No
6446.
