HOLLAND, Commissioner ARTHUR F. COLEMAN, Deputy Commissioner 4411100 March 9, 1956 Comsr. Bernard T. Holland Dept. Parks, Playgrounds and Public Buildings Dear Sir: Contract Number G-120 was awarded to the Rydeen Construc- tion Company for General Construction of Four Playground Buildings, the McMurray Field Recreation Building, the Ruth Playground Build- ing, the Hayden Heights Playground Building, and the Lockwood Playground Building. It has been found that hardware items not covered in the specifications are necessary for three of the buildings, and negotiations have been conducted with the contractor who agrees to furnish the following items for a cost of $324.00 which is a reasonable amount for the labor and material involved: 6 push plates, 6 pulls, 3 dead locks, 6 door closers, and 6 wall stops. It has been also found necessary to change the locks as specified to cylindrical latch sets and mortice dead lock, the dead locks to have Best-Lock cylinders keyed to existing key for the four playground buildings. Negotiations for this have been conducted with the Contractor who agrees to make this change for a total additional sum of $475.00. It is therefore recommended that a resolution be submitted to the Council which will authorize the addition of $799.00 to contract number G-120 to cover the above listed necessary items for completion of this contract.
