OF CITY CLERK March 5, 1956 1g56 Wit 12 PM 12 15 Norris 0. Halvorson Commissioner of Finance City of St. Paul SAINT PAUL Mt NESOTA St. ±'aul 2, Minnesota a CITY CLERK Notice was received by me that my property, situated at 785 Coro Ave., is assessed ,i34.02 for benefits arising from constructing sewer in Jessamine Ave. I am in no way benefitted by this work, and therefore, feel this assessment most unfair. in the first place., this sewer in no way services my "property. It is in the back - of my lot, and I have already p id my- share of sewer assessments on Como Ave. Secondly, the notice states for benefits received. Construction of sewer and grading became a joint project which turned out to be anything but improvement in my case. I had to twice move my garage to comply with your land easement requests, and finally had to raze it completely, because the change in grade level left it I ft. in the air. Besides losing a garage, I lost trees, shrubs, sidewalk, driveway, clothesposts, and a backyard --- a decrease of several thousand dollars in property value. Therefore, having received neither service nor improvement benefits from this project I feel the assessment unjustified. 9 v4a, / Dale Van De Walker Lot 2, Block 1, Royal Oaks Addition •
