WBERAS, The Comptroller has reported in accordance with Section 53 of
the City Charter the existence of an emergency during the period of Jan. 4th
through April 30, 1956 which rendered necessary the employment of certain
employees of the Comptroller's Office for more than eight hours per day or
forty hours per week in doing the following described work: Verifying,
auditing, checking payrolls and checking payroll machine operations for
correct issuance of payroll checks, and
WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of additional employees in
various departments increasing payroll processing which could not be handled
by entrained personnel,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with
the provisions of the Council' salary Ordinance No. 61446.
