On May 10, 1956, Almighty God summoned from this life
Harry C. Streich, an electrical engineer who had served
as Superintendent of Lighting for the City of Saint Paul
for the past forty-two years.
Harry C. Streich graduated from the University of
Minnesota in 1912, and immediately vent to work for the City
of Saint Paul. Two years later, in 1914, when the present
Charter was adopted, he became our Superintendent of lighting
and held that position from that time until the time of his
death. He was a great public servant; his first thought being
for the betterment of the city and his thoughts turned always
to the aid of the common man. The people of Saint Paul have
lost an able public official; his family has lost a loving .
husband and father; we have lost a trusted friend and
associate, whose advice and encouragement were so much
appreciated by each one of us personally.
RESOLVED, that we, the members of the'etty Council of the
City of Saint Paul, extend to the members of the bereaved
family our deep and heartfelt sympathy in this the' ' hour of
their bereavement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that in token of our deepest sympathy
this resolution be spread on the official minutes of the
Council of the City of Saint Paul, and that an engrossed copy
thereof be sent to the family of the deoeased.
