WHEREAS, Alfred H. Schroeder, City Architect, has re-
quested the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider
any complaints about the expense incurred by the City of Saint
Paul in removing a dangerous structure at 91 West Hyacinth
Avenue, more particularly described as: Lot 31, Block 2,
Wifelburg Hills, City of Saint Paul; and
Whereas, it appears that the last known record owners
of said property are James J. Kirwan, 1127 Karyl P1. , St.
Paul 13, Minn. ; Robert F. Galvin, 1524 Albany St. , St. Paul
13, Minn. ; Arthur K. Tiedman and Margaret K. Tiedman, 400
Endicott on 4th, St. Paul 1, Minn. ; George D. Brown and
Lillian P. Brown, 1074 Hazelwood Avenue, Apt. D, St. Paul 6,
Minn. ; Antonio Legato, 767 Payne Avenue, St. Paul 1, Minn. ;
and Robert S. Bolin, 1426 Rice St. , St. Paul 3, Minnesota,
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul
hold a public hearing in the Council Chamber at 10:00 o'clock
a.m. on the 23rd day of May, 1956, to consider any complaints
about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul and to
confirm the amount thereof; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by mail
the record owners of the property in question at the last
known addresses.

Gentlemen:
A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on
this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the. property
known as 91 West Hyacinth Avenue, located on Lot 31, Block 2,
Wifelburg Hills. The property is listed in the names of
James J. Kirwan, 1127 Karyl P1. , St. Paul 13; Robert F. Galvin,
1524 Albany St. , St. Paul 13; Arthur K. & Margaret K. Tiedman,
400 Endicott on 4th, St. Paul 1; Geo. D. & Lillian P. Brown,
1074 Hazelwood Ave. , Apt. B, St. Paul 6; Antonio Legato, 767
Payne Avenue, St. Paul 1; and Robt. S. Bolin, 1426 Rice St. ,
St. Paul 3.
In this matter, the following resolutions were adopted by the
City Council:
C. F. 174969, adopted September 13, 1955 (published September
17, 1955) set a public hearing at 10 A. M. in the Council
Chambers on October 4, 1955.
C. F. 175288, adopted October 5, 1955 (published October 8,
1955) ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and ex-
pense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control there-
of.
C. F. 175553, adopted October 27, 1955 (published October 29,
1955) directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds And
Public Buildings to enter upon the premises and wreck and re-
move the frame dwelling and do all things necessary to pro-
tect life, limb, and adjoining property.
C. F. 175992, adopted December 6, 1955 (published December 10,
19551 approved the specifications prepared by the City Archi-
tect for the wrecking of this building and authorized the
purchasing agent to advertise for bids.
C. F. 176309, adopted January 6, 1956 (published January 14,
1956) approved the award of the contract for wrecking to
Truck Crane Service Co. for the sum of $125.00 in accordance

Dear Sir:
The Council requested that you draw a resolution setting a date for
public hearing to confirm the expense in the amount of X164 41 i*�rred
by the city in connection with the wrecking of dangerous structure at
91 W. Hyacinth Ave., on Lot 31, Block 2, Wifelburg Hills, as more fully
described in the attached letter of Alfred H. Schroeder.

with the specifications and formal bid No. 5534.
C. F. 176623, adopted January 31, 1956 (published February
4, 1956) authorized the Department of Parks, Playgrounds
And Public Buildings to do the wrecking and provided that
the wrecking expense of $125.00 (lowest bid) and the ex-
penses of the Department of $39.41, making a total of
$164.41, be paid out of General Fund Item 31 G 23, and
in the event that sum proves collectible from the owner,
same is to be credited to 31 G 23.
This building was wrecked and Registered Bill No. 4 1459
was mailed to the owners March 27, 1956.
We are requesting you to hold a public hearing with ten
days notice to consider any complaints about the expenses
incurred and to confirm the amount. The Council resolution
confirming the expenses should end with a directive to the
City Clerk to file a statement of expense for the purpose
of securing a lien on the property.
