IVHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported
in accordance with Section 51 of the, City Charter, the existence of
an emergency during the period from April 1, 1956 to April 30, 1956,
inclusive, which rendered necessary the eztployment of certain
employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums,
Bureau of Public Libraries, for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
(1) To accommodate groups using branch libraries for evening
meetings and (2) evening Bookmobile schedule.
And 'WH EAS,. This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Evening use of branch libraries for meetings and evening use of
Bookmobile.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the
provision of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6146.
