WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of am emergency
during the period from April 1st through May 5th, 1956 which rendered necessary
the employment of certain employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditorium
and Museums, Bureau of Auditorium, for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
Operate switchboard, ventilating system and electric work, also
to supervise daring the many activities held in the building.
and SEAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-
stances:
No other trained help available to *rk during the home show, operas,
conventions, and other events held in the building. This time includes
Saturdays and Sundays.
THE E BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby authorised to
pay the employees who performed such irk in accordance with the provisions of
the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
