WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence
of an emergency during the period from April 1, 1956 to April
30, 1956, which rendered necessary the employment of certain
employees of the Department of Public Safety for more than
eight hours per deg, or forty hours per week, in doing the
following work:
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building ham -.
tenance and, WSSREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the
following facts and circumstances:
To replace employees on sick leave
