Dear Sir: Contract Number G-164 was awarded to the George J. Grant Construction Company for Foyer. Remodeling, Theater Section, Municipal Auditorium, Fifth Street Side, St. Paul, Minnesota. During the course of the work under the contract, it has been found necessary to construct concrete footings at entrances 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to support new stone and masonry work, these footings not having been originally specified. At the request of Commissioner Mortinson, negotiations have been conducted with the contractor who agrees to construct these footings for a price of $135.00 which is a reasonable amount for the labor and material involved. It is therefore recommended that a resolution be sub- mitted to the Council which will authorize an addition to contract number G-164 in the amount of $135.00 to cover the above noted extra work.
