WHEREAS, an accident occurred on April 11, 1956, at Grand
and Lexington Avenues in the City of Saint Paul, wherein Harry P.
Churchill, police officer of the City of Saint Paul, was injured
when a squad car which he was operating was involved in a collision
with a car driven by Edward R. Gehrke, said vehicle being owned by
Edward R. Gehrke; and
WHEREAS, as a result of said accident, officer Churchill sus-
tained an injury to his nose, to both knees, and to the cervical spine,
from which he has recovered; and
WHEREAS, the City sustained property damage to the squad
car in the amount of $569.30, and expended a sum of $23.50 for medical
expenses to cure and relieve officer Churchill, for which it is subro
gated to the claim of Mr. Churchill, together with $39.60 representing
wage loss of officer Churchill, the City's total claim amounting to
A632.40; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officers are authorized to
accepts the following amounts in full and final settlement against the
said Edward R. Gehrke, namely $426.97 for damage to the squad car,
representing 75% of the total bill for property damage to said vehicle;
$23.50 representing full expenditure for medical bills by the City; and
61440 $39.60 representing the wage loss sustained by said City; and the
proper City officers are hereby instructed to execute releases of the
City's claim.
