June 6, 1956 Mr. Joseph Okoneski City Clerk Building Dear Sir: This is in the matter of the application of the Capital City State Bank for a permit to install a customers' parking lot on the property located adjacent to the southeast corner of Lawson and Rice. This is known as 1020 Rice street and is described as lots .1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 - Auditor's Sub-division #17. The zoning is "commercial." The property is presently vacant and has a frontage of 145.33' on Lawson and 128.57' on Rice street. The applicants propose to utilize the site as a customer parking lot in conjunction with a bank which is presently under construction adjacent to the property. The lot will have a capacity of 23 cars. The yard area requirements and the design standards concerning the pro- vision for parking lots have been complied with. The parking facility will be served by (eta entrance and an exit drivewaysjone of which is located on Rice to the south of the proposed bank building and one which- is located on Lawson east of the proposed bank building. There will be a drive-in teller window located adjacent to the north wall of the build- ing to be serviced by a driveway from Lawson street and exiting via the parking lot driveway to the east. The curb adjacent to the south side of Lawson street will be set in a distance of 6' from its conventional position to permit the free flow of traffic incident to this operation. The lay-out , and operation of this facility have been approved by the Chief Engineer and the Traffic Engineer's office. In consideration of these factors the Zoning Board recommends that this permit to establish a customer-parking lot incident to a bank and drive- in teller facility at this location be granted.
