HOLLAND. Commissioner ARTHUR F. COLEMAN, Deputy Commissioner A June 4, 1956 Comsr. Bernard T. Holland Dept. Parks, Playgrounds & Public Bldgs. Dear Sir: Contract Number G-239 was awarded to the Hankee Heating Company for Removal of Existing Boilers, Facilities, Piping and Fittings and the Installation of New Boilers, Facilities and Revision of Piping at Como Park, St. Paul, Minnesota . During the course of the work under the contract, it has been found that there were no footings for supporting the new boilers, a condition which was impossible to anticipate or determine at the time of writing the specifications. It was necessary, therefore, to negotiate with the contractor who agrees to do the following for the sum of $180.00 which is a reasonable amount for the labor and material involved : "We propose to furnish and install two (2) footings to support these columns composed of 31-0" x 3' -0" x 15" base and 14" square piers. Bottom of bases to be at floor of present ash pit or solid earth. Price for this additional work to be $180.00. " It is therefore recommended that a resolution be submitted to the Council which will authorize an addition in the amount of $180.00 to this contract to cover the above listed. Very truly yours / -,/ Ad red H. Schroeder ity Architect AHS:al cc Schnarr Derenthal Sam Blue
